    Description

    Here is a handwritten invite on Daughters of the Revolution letterhead paper, dated 1902, to a meeting of the DAR Philadelphia, PA chapters at a private home. The emblem at the top of the invite reads: "Daughters of the Revolution, Liberty, Home and Country, Pennsylvania 1776 1894" with an eagle at the top. The invite is addressed to Miss Bessie Beach at the Library of the University of Pennsylvania. The paper and envelope are yellow. The paper (when folded) measures 6.75" x 4.5". It has some creases at the top. The envelope is postmarked Jan. 6, 1902.
    The letter reads:
    "A combined meeting of the members of the Philadelphia chapters Daughters of the Revolution will be held at the
    residence of Mrs. O. Lat. (?) Perry 3717 Baring Street on Thursday January sixteenth at three P.M. An interesting program has been prepared...You are cordially invited to be present. Please reply to Mrs. O. Lat. Perry, January sixth, nineteen hundred and two."
