    I WAS TOLD THAT THESE ARE , fossil that is older than the dinosaurs. It is a rugose coral, that was most common in the Devonian period, that ranged from approximately 420 to 360 million years ago. They became extinct in the Permian period, the time of mass extinction, about 245 million years ago. The corals lived in colonies and also singularly. You have a couple of single specimens. Dinosaurs did not come along until around 230 million years ago
