    Description

    Autotransfomer for 90/100/110/200/208/220/230/240V made by Nippon Dengen Kiki Co. No. 38839-3. Dec. 1971. Rated 3.3KW for step-down operation. While designed and marketed for step-down operation, I used it to step up voltage from 110V to 220V to run European radios. I also tested the transformer with a 500 W load (light bulbs) in step-up mode (see last photo). There was no significant warm-up of the transformer after 4 hours with this load. The voltage drop was 10V (from 228V to 218V) when the load was added.
