Auger FOSSIL
SHELL from FLORIDA -
Terebra taurinus
This fossil Auger shell is from from the
Pliocene period, part of the Tamiami Formation.
It was collected at the
bottom of the SMR Aggregate Pit,  Sarasota, Fl
.  It is now closed to the general public like most fossil shell pits in Florida.
You get the exact specimen shown in the photos above.
Terebra taurinus
is 9.1 cm long.
