Organized February 16, 1921 - The 19th Chapter Organized
The President of the National Society Daughters of the Founders and Patriots of America, Alice Bradford Wiles, appointed Mrs. James Schoonmaker as Organizing President for Minnesota. Eleven women assembled on February 16, 1921, in the auditorium of the Minnesota Historical Society building, for the purpose of forming a Minnesota Chapter. Five of these women had been members of the Society for some time and the other six had been invited by the organizing president. The officers were elected between February 16, 1921 and May 13, 1921...
Here we have 3 books. 1921 to 1923 The History of the First and Second Years of the Minnesota Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of Founders and Patriots of America. Included inside this book are the original bylaws of the order. Adopted January 3, 1922. The third book is the 2nd in the series of books dated from 1923 to 1927. Listing organizing members, officers, Committees, etc.
The first two books are in great shape. No tears, rips, etc. The third book has some writing in crayon on the first page (pictured) and some minor writing on few of the pages not in crayon. It looks like someone was numbering pages or something? Also some page turning marks at the top. Pictured as well. These are very minor abrasion and do not take away from the history of these fine books.
