Vintage original poster titled "WE" shows Charles Lindbergh and the Spirit of St. Louis among the clouds and above the Atlantic Ocean.
    Dimensions:  12"W x 16"H
It is marked in the lower right corner, "The U.S.P & L. Co.".
The artist, Kverne immigrated to the United States when he was just 18 years old. He was a master in water color and oil based paintings.
This beautiful print represents Charles A. Lindbergh's most famous flight. The "WE" illustration was issued shortly after Lindbergh completed his flight across the Atlantic in 1927 by Einar Kverne. The illustration depicts Lindbergh in flight through the clouds with the vast sky and ocean that he had faced all alone.
All of these prints were very expensive and very few were sold. These were created from one of Kverne's original paintings called the "The Spirit of Aviation".
Originally, when these illustrations were issued, they sold only in galleries.
Kvernes business was to turn famous paintings, including some of his own, into these types of illustrations known as "reproductions".
