Vintage 60s Malcolm Starr Rare Hand Painted Silk Brocade Strapless Crumb Catcher Long Dress w/ Stole
It is a 1960's sz 10. Closest to a modern size 2/4, bust could fit up to a 32C max.
This stunning Malcolm Starr formal gown/party dress is of hand painted silk blend metallic brocade. Crumb catcher
empire waist bodice with a bow.
It is unique, and a jaw dropper in person. The painted print of leaves and florals is black with vibrant orange, and tiny hints of pink. The stole is a light warm golden color.
This would make an AMAZING wedding gown. It would also be a wonderful collector's piece. (It's honestly worth just gazing at.)
Background story- The original owner purchased this in New York, and she wore it to a Mardi Gras ball in the 60's. She then gifted it to my mother long ago.
Fabric is in great to excellent condition, needs a professional cleaning and press as it's been stored in a closet for many years. (with acid free tissue)
The bodice is lined in satin and has an attached crinoline.
The gown is great condition with only a few small spots of discoloration which were hard to find. one at the bodice back to the left of the zipper and one thats a 2+ inches across the hem in back. The design makes it hard to notice.
The stole has two spots (wine) which if folded would be difficult to see.

Front Length from top edge: 52"
Back length from top edge: 49"
Bust: @16 across =32"
Waist: 28" ( empire cut gown has higher waistline, underneath the bust)
Stole Measurements:
Length: 88"
Width: 23 1/2"
(faint wine stains are about 23" from one end)
